RED DEER, AB – On August 18th, 2016 at 6pm, Habitat for Humanity Red Deer will be hosting a Formal Garden Party fundraiser at Parkland Nurseries and Garden Center. This fundraiser will not only be attended by Sports Hall of Fame members Haley Wickenheiser and Bearcat Murray, but will feature in its silent auction a unique piece donated by noted Alberta artist Brad Holt.
Recently featured in the Calgary Herald showcasing one of many pieces on display at the Calgary Stampede grounds, Brad Holt brings his talents of photo realism through hand painted acrylic work and creating rich, textured sunsets and landscapes. All of his pieces are completed by a hand-made frame, from local reclaimed wood, that is truly an extension of the art. Brad grew up in rural Alberta, east of Calgary near Strathmore, and through farming and 4H clubs he has grown a love for the Alberta landscapes which speaks volumes in his pieces. Brad currently resides in Airdrie, Alberta with his wife, and will also be attending the event. Habitat for Humanity is excited to have his artwork donated for their silent auction.
Along with the many items donated and up for auction, this event will include a Top Chef competition, as well as, live bourbon street style music by The Hot Dixieland Jazz Band. All funds raised at the Garden Party will be used to pay for future home builds by Habitat for Humanity that help local low income families in the Central Alberta Region.
