RED DEER, AB – On Tuesday January 17th, representatives from Habitat Red Deer met with the Red Deer Kinsmen to receive a donation from the proceeds of their 2016 Dream Home Lottery 50/50 draw.
A total of over $114,000 was split between both Habitat Red Deer and the Red Deer Food Bank, with a cheque presented to Habitat Red Deer for a total of $57,106.25!
“We truly thankful to the Red Deer Kinsmen Club for this very significant contribution to our work in Central Alberta.” Said Habitat Red Deer Executive Director Brian Brake. “100% of this donation will be used to help cover the construction costs related to our current build of 4 homes at Sheep Close.” This is the second largest donation Habitat for Humanity Red Deer has received in association with their project in Sheep Close. With our fundraising efforts now fulfilled specifically for the Lacombe build, we can now begin to look forward to their next project which will be in the City of Red Deer. Habitat Red Deer would like to thank all of those who support the Red Deer Kinsmen and make it possible for them to support community projects like Habitat.
