Protecting our organization’s information is the responsibility of every member of the team, including volunteers, as we all share a common interest in making sure that this information is not improperly or accidentally disclosed.
All employees, committee members and volunteers at one time or another will receive personal, privileged and/or confidential information. This information may concern Habitat for Humanity Red Deer Region Society families, affiliate issues, personnel, the organization’s operations and/or other individuals and organizations with whom we are associated. You are obligated to ensure that this information remains confidential and is not disclosed. This is true regardless of whether you are actively working or volunteering, or your work/volunteering has ended with Habitat for Humanity Red Deer Region Society for any reason.
Should an occasion arise in which you are unsure of your obligations under this policy, it is your responsibility to consult with the Executive Director.
If inquiries are made from outside the affiliate office, particularly from media, you must not answer, but direct all such questions to the Executive Director who is responsible for media and communication issues. Employees and volunteers who disclose confidential and/or privileged information will be disciplined up to and including immediate termination.
Confidentiality Agreement As a volunteer of Habitat for Humanity Red Deer, I may receive personal, privileged and/or confidential information concerning partner families, affiliate issues, personnel, the organization’s operations, or other individuals and organizations with whom we are associated.
I hereby pledge to keep private and confidential all such information and acknowledge that unauthorized release of confidential information may be cause for discipline, up to and including discharge.
Authorization to Release Personal Information Habitat for Humanity Red Deer will ask for only the information we need to maintain the volunteer-manager relationship. We will not release any personal information you provide, except with your consent or when required by law.
