At Habitat for Humanity Red Deer, we build strength, stability, and self-reliance through affordable homeownership.
The benefits of the Habitat Affordable Homeownership Program
One of the most prominent challenges families face in owning a home is saving for a down payment and having affordable mortgage payments. In the Habitat for Humanity Affordable Homeownership Program, homeowners pay no down payment on their home, no interest accumulates on their mortgage, and mortgage payments never exceed 30% of their gross income.
Affordable Homeownership Program Eligibility and Criteria
Our home ownership program is open to all Canadian Citizens or Permanent Residents of three years or more.
The program is open to families of all cultures, ethnicities, and backgrounds. Habitat homeowners represent a variety of family structures, including single-parent and dual-parent families, as well as families with elderly or young adult members. Families also come with a range of abilities.
