Habitat Canada’s 2023 Affordable Housing Survey

Habitat Canada has released their second Affordable Housing Survey. The results share how Canadians feel about the affordable homeownership crisis and the growing barriers to homeownership.

Affordable housing is at the top of Canadian's minds. For the second year in a row, lack of housing affordability ranked as a top concern for Canadians alongside inflation and access to healthcare, according to survey findings. Homeownership is growing out of reach for many of our family, friends, co-workers and neighbours.

We recognize that the land on which we work, gather, and live is within the territory of the Blackfoot, Tsuu T’ina, and Stoney Nakoda peoples and that the Central Alberta region we serve falls under Treaty 6, traditional Métis, Cree, and Saulteaux territory. We acknowledge and honour the First Peoples who have lived here since time immemorial. We stand with the Indigenous peoples of Alberta and continue to advocate for reconciliation.
