Habitat for Humanity Red Deer Women's Build 2.0, July 19

Habitat for Humanity Red Deer hosted our 2nd Women's Build event of 2019 at our Vista Triplex in Sylvan Lake on July 19. 14 volunteers came out for a day of painting doors and building community - thank you so much!

A little bit of mud and rain didn't stop this great group of volunteers from giving a hand at 4040 Ryders Ridge Boulevard in Sylvan Lake - thank you to all who came out! Kurt, our Construction Manager trained our volunteers on the day's tasks, and as always, safety (and fun!) were the theme of the day's events.

"Thank you so much to all the volunteers who came out and helped with painting doors. This group was an absolute pleasure to work with - I absolutely cannot wait to plan and host the next Women's Build event!" - Tori Gilbertson, Volunteer & Communications Coordinator, Habitat for Humanity Red Deer.

We recognize that the land on which we work, gather, and live is within the territory of the Blackfoot, Tsuu T’ina, and Stoney Nakoda peoples and that the Central Alberta region we serve falls under Treaty 6, traditional Métis, Cree, and Saulteaux territory. We acknowledge and honour the First Peoples who have lived here since time immemorial. We stand with the Indigenous peoples of Alberta and continue to advocate for reconciliation.
