Chris Rod
Christian Benjamin Yu Rodriguez or Chris Rod as he is known in his community is a resident of Red Deer, Alberta and is a father of 3 boys, Gabriel, Kyle and Matteo. He is married to Kathleen, a Registered Nurse at the Red Deer Hospital.
Chris Rod migrated from the Philippines in 2013 and lived in Saskatchewan for almost 10 years before moving to Red Deer around November 2022.
Chris was a Residential Property Manager with Colliers in Saskatchewan and also worked with a couple of Property Management Companies within a span of 3 years. He was also a Regional Operations Manager for large scale cleaning companies before he moved to Red Deer.
His community involvement includes being a Founding Director with the Filipino Canadian National Congress (FCNC) under the Philippine Canadian Parliamentary Friendship Group. Chairman of the Events & Outreach Committee, Vice Chair of the Sports & Recreation Committee. A member with the Philippine Business Association of Alberta.
An event organizer with GKM Events Management, he conceptualized, organized and established the Filipino Music and Food Festival which originated in Saskatchewan 4 years ago. Now, he is organizing the Red Deer Filipino Music & Food Street Festival.
Chris Rod is also reaching out to Filipino Community Organizations across Alberta and Saskatchewan to help them organize their own festivals.
