Nicole Lorrain
Nicole has worked for the Government of Alberta for over 31 years, having gotten her first taste as a public servant at the early age of 19. Nicole has enjoyed many roles along the way, but her interests always led to human resources, which is what drew her to her current role as a Workforce Consultant. For the last decade Nicole has worked alongside employers to assist them with their workforce development needs. In what she terms as the best job she has had in her career with the public service, Nicole gets great satisfaction from knowing she might have helped an employer avoid a layoff, find a way to get some training for their staff, or find success in hiring new staff.
As a graduate of the Bachelor of Management program at Red Deer Polytechnic, Nicole is passionate about her community and supporting local businesses and social profit organizations. In her spare time, she enjoys volunteering with several organizations in her community, and has spent the last 25 years on boards helping to lead great organizations in and around Red Deer.
Nicole feels her greatest accomplishment in that area was the five years as a director the 2019 Games Winter Games Host Society. It was a whirlwind of learning sport, and she is looking forward to another great learning experience with Habitat for Humanity. In her spare time, she also enjoys spending time with her family or just simply the company of a good book.
